At Colorado Psychiatry Solutions, we prioritize making mental health services accessible. Whether you’re managing anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, or looking for support during a difficult time, we want to make sure nothing stands in the way of getting the care you need. That’s why we’re excited to offer telepsychiatry services. You can now connect with our experienced psychiatric providers and therapists from the comfort of your home.
Virtual psychiatry – also known as telepsychiatry or online psychiatry – is safe, secure, and just as effective as in-person care for many patients. It’s part of our commitment to meeting you where you are, whether that’s in one of our four clinics across Colorado Springs and Monument, or online through your phone, tablet, or computer.
Colorado residents who live outside of Colorado Springs and Monument can receive online psychiatry and therapy services at Colorado Psychiatry Solutions, making it easy to receive the help you need from anywhere in Colorado.
What Is Telepsychiatry?
Telepsychiatry allows you to meet with your psychiatric provider or therapist over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You’ll see and talk to your provider just like you would during an in-person appointment, but without the drive, traffic, or time away from work or family.
Through virtual psychiatry visits, we can:
· Conduct evaluations
· Provide medication management
· Offer follow-up care
· Deliver individual therapy sessions with one of our licensed in-house therapists
When is Online Psychiatry a Good Option?
Online healthcare visits became the norm during the pandemic. Now, patients and providers alike are comfortable with participating in online psychiatry. More and more of our patients are discovering that online visits make it easier to prioritize their mental health. Here’s why:
- Online Psychiatry Visits are Convenient
Whether you’re juggling work, kids, or caregiving responsibilities, virtual visits make it easier to keep your appointments. There’s no commute, no waiting room, and no disruption to your day. You can log in from home, your office, or even your parked car. You can minimize the time required for appointments while maximizing the mental health benefits.
- Increased Privacy and Comfort
Some people feel more comfortable speaking to their provider from their own space, especially when discussing personal mental health concerns. Walking into a psychiatry office – even a warm, welcoming office like Colorado Psychiatry Solutions – can feel unfamiliar and intimidating. With online virtual psychiatry, you can choose the environment where you feel most comfortable for a visit.
- Maintain Appointment Consistency
Virtual visits ensure you can stay on track with treatment, even if you’re traveling, feeling sick, or snowed in during one of those classic Colorado Springs winter storms. Online psychiatry visits make it easier to stay consistent with your appointments and not miss scheduled check ups.
- Expanded Access Across Colorado
Our telepsychiatry services are available to residents anywhere in Colorado. This is an excellent option for Colorado residents who live in rural communities, people with mobility issues, or anyone who doesn’t have easy access to transportation. Whether you live in Monument, Colorado Springs, or further away across the state, you can access high quality mental health care at Colorado Psychiatry Solutions.
When is an In-Person Visit Better?
While online visits are a great option, we generally recommend that new patients who are seeking a psychiatric evaluation or starting medication management come in for an in-person appointment first. This allows us to complete a more detailed assessment and establish a strong therapeutic foundation.
That said, we understand that in-person visits aren’t always practical, especially for people who don’t live near one of our offices in Colorado Springs or Monument. We’re flexible and can work with you as circumstances require.
If you’re beginning therapy with one of our licensed therapists, you’re welcome to start with a virtual intake session – no need to see a psychiatric provider first. We make it easy to begin your journey toward better mental health, wherever you’re starting from.
When is an In-Person Visit Required?
Online visits are convenient and as effective as in-person visits, but we can’t do everything online (not yet at least!) Here are some things that require an in-person visit:
- Ketamine Therapy. Ketamine is delivered by IV infusions in a controlled environment, with medical supervision throughout the procedure. Infusions are an outpatient procedure performed at any of our clinic locations. With four locations across Colorado Springs and Monument, there’s a good chance you have a clinic located near you, making it convenient to receive ketamine therapy.
- Spravato Treatment. Spravato is a derivative of ketamine and is similar in its effect. Spravato is a nasal spray delivery rather than infusions but is still required to be delivered in a controlled environment with medical supervision. Spravato treatment is available as an outpatient procedure at any of our four clinic locations in Colorado Springs and Monument.
- TMS. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is an advanced treatment for depression, PTSD, anxiety, OCD and addictive behaviors, such as for smoking cessation. TMS is delivered using a TMS medical device and supervised throughout by a trained TMS technician. All TMS visits are in-person at one of our clinics. For those who want to minimize the number of in-person visits, Accelerated TMS offers the same excellent TMS results in a much shorter timeframe.
